Throwback Thursday - Being Stupid

I have a short story in the Lover Unexcpeted: Manlove Edition anthology from Evernight Publishing. The excerpt is a little shorter and not into the really smutty end of things because it's a short story.

not quite smutty excerpt for Being Stupid:

“Nope. Me either.” He wrapped up the rest of the pie, put it in the fridge.

Parson made an odd noise and when Henry straightened, his friend looked away quickly, cheeks red.

“You okay, man?”

“Fine.” Parson cleared his throat. “Just dandy.”

“Dandy? What the hell does that mean?”

“How the hell should I know?” Parson was looking belligerent again.

“You’re the one with a liberal arts degree.”

“Fuck off.”

“Man, we need to get laid. You’re bitchy and I’m … well, something way cooler than bitchy.” He leaned back against the fridge.

Parson snorted, but then shot him a look, not the bulldog belligerent, not the teasing asshole, either. “You offering?”

“To get you laid?” This had been the weirdest fucking night.

“That was what we were talking about, wasn’t it?”

“Yeah…” Henry looked over, a small pang hitting him. “Like you’d say yes.”

Parson’s mouth quirked into a half smile, then his head tilted. “You never know.”

His cock gave a little lurch. “Tease. Like we’re compatible.”

“How could we not be?”

“I don’t know.” Henry chewed on his bottom lip. “We’ve been friends a long time. What if we fuck it up?”

“I’m not risking our friendship for a quick fuck.”

“That’s what I figured.” He turned to the fridge. “You want another beer?”

Parson sighed. “Sure.”

He pulled out two bottles, handed one over. “We’re being weird as fuck tonight, man.”

Parson shrugged. “Maybe we’re just looking at the world a little differently. From the seat of all this wisdom of ours.”

That made him chuckle. “That was almost deep.”

“You know me, Henry, I don’t do deep.” There was something in Parson’s eyes, though.

“Well, that’s a shame. I like it deep.” Wait. Wait, did he say that out loud?
