Throwback Thursday - Touch and Trust

I've self-published another of the Velvet Glove books. This one fits in with Connor's Journey and Soaring with Hawk, along with a couple of the stories in Velvet Diamonds. Together these were the first I wrote and the characters in all of them attend Connor and Desmond's collaring ceremony in Connor's Journey. Then I did Anything for a Byline, which really serves as a great introduction to the club.

Touch and Trust

Sampson is too tall to be anything but awkward outside, but in the Velvet Glove he shines, confident in his ability as a top. When he meets Alain, it breaks Sampson's heart. Alain has been without a top, and any kind of touch, for too long. Can Sampson prove himself and win Alain's heart?

Previously published by Torquere Press.

It's available at All Romance Ebooks right now and as soon as the Amazon link goes live, I'll add it.

smutty excerpt:

"Come on in. Would you like anything?"

"I'd like um, some water available. For when we ah, start. So if um, either of us gets thirsty we don't have to um, stop. Oh! A safeword. Have you um, got one?"

"Of course. There's a stocked cooler in the playroom." Alain led Sampson to the huge playroom. It had been three rooms once, but they'd had the walls torn down, the atmosphere calm and quiet and empty. "My safeword is china." He stood at the door, looking in. "I haven't ever brought someone here."

Sampson's hand slid up his back. "Oh. We don't have to, um. If you don't. One of the other playrooms um, might be, um less weird for you?"

He let himself lean back into Sampson's touch. "No. No, I... I want this. I want this with you." It was the truth, too. There was something in Sampson's hands. Something necessary.

"Oh. Um, good. Yeah, good." Sampson's other hand came up, too, sliding through his hair. "Could I um, kiss you? I don't usually um, not unless it's part of the um, scene, but I ah want to. Kiss you."

He looked up and grinned. "I'd like that. Yes. Yes, please."

"Thank you um, for that. I mean this. Um." Sampson bent, and bent, hand around his back, the other one on his chin, tilting his face up. Sampson's lips were warm and soft, the kiss a touch clumsy.

There was a heat there, though, a sweetness and he opened up, lips parting. Sampson's tongue slid in, tasting gently. Alain simply melted, reaching up to feel the wild hair, moaning into their kiss. Sampson seemed content to the let the kiss go on and on, heat building between them. He was getting hard, leaning in to rub against Sampson, see how far he might go.

"Oh. Alain. I want to um, I'm sorry, you invite me for um, a scene and I. Want more than a um. A kiss."

"What do you want?" He moaned, hanging onto Sampson's shoulders.

"I want to um, make love first. And then um, the scene."

"Yes. Yes, please." He met Sampson's eyes, nodding. "Please."

"Um. Where? Here?"

"Come to my bed? We'll do the scene here, later. Make love to me in my bed." He took Sampson's hand, leading the way down the hall to his private room. The room that had only ever been his.

Sampson looked around very briefly and then turned to him, hands cupping his face, the long fingers stroking his skin, eyes following them, gazing at him. "You're very um, beautiful."

"Thank you." He stepped out of his shoes, stretching into Sampson's touch. "I'm hard for you."

"Oh. Me, too. Well for you, not um, me." Sampson smiled warmly, hand reached down and touching his prick through his pants, but only briefly. "I don't want to um, rush."

"No. I don't either. I want to feel you." Need to be touched. Felt. Please.

"Yes. So sensual." Sampson's long fingers began to work on his buttons, opening his shirt.

He returned the favor, fingers touching the warm, long body, shivering deep inside. Sampson pushed the shirt off his shoulders, fingers trailing over his skin. Alain moaned, shifting under the touches, hair tickling his back.

"So warm. Um... you fell ah, good." Sampson's lips covered his again, the long fingers wandering, taking random paths over his body. He managed to get Sampson's shirt open, fingers sliding up along the long body, searching out Sampson's nipples.

A shiver went through Sampson. "Oh. Can we um, go to the bed. I don't trust my um, knees."

"Yes." He moved to turn the covers back, the blue linen smooth on his fingers.

"Oh. Oh, Alain. What um, your back -- what's um, on it?" Sampson's fingers were back, sliding his shirt down the rest of the way. "Oh wow. Oh. Oh."

"My butterfly." He arched, moaning under the touches. "It was done here."

"It's um, amazing. When you move it uh, looks alive." Sampson traced the swirls and circles in the wings, tracing the outline of the tattoo and the patterns within it.

"Oh..." He climbed onto the bed, moaning. "Your hands..."

"They like touching you um, or ah, I do." Sampson climbed onto the bed behind him, hands sliding down to undo his pants while hot kisses were placed along his spine.

He cried out, fingers curling in the sheets. So sensitive there. So good. So... "Good, Sampson. Hot..."

"It's like a um, mountain range on a map," Sampson murmured. "Your spine. Ah, a relief map." Sampson's tongue slid down along each bump.

Alain rippled, rocking, body sliding under Sampson's mouth. Sampson had his pants open and was tugging them down past his hips. He helped, baring himself eagerly, lost in the sensation, in the touching.

"Oh. Oh, so um, beautiful." His cock was outlined by careful fingers, Sampson's mouth working the small of his back, tongue teasing the top of his crack.

"Oh! Oh, I... So good." He jerked, moaning and shuddering and hard. Really hard.

"You smell um, good. And ah, taste good, too. Alain." Sampson's fingers moved around to spread open his ass, tongue sliding down along his crack until it was teasing his opening.

He was whimpering, eyes wide as he shook. Oh. Oh, so giving. So real. So hot. "Sampson!"

One of Sampson's hands slid back around, checking his prick before returning to keep his ass spread open. Sampson's tongue worked his hole, teasing and licking and all of a sudden pushing into him. Alain's head lifted and he groaned, pushing back against Sampson, hips moving furiously. Oh. Oh, it had been so long. So long. So... Sampson fucked him with quick jabs, tongue as long as the rest of the man and pushing in deep.

Wednesday Book Day

I read The Hobbit when I was about twelve and subsequently picked up the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I made it through the first 200 pages or so and put the book down in disgust. I didn't want to switch characters - I wanted to stay with the same ones I'd been reading about for 200 pages! It took a couple of years before I had forgiven Tolkien for how he did his narrative and picked the books back up, devouring them this time.

I think Tolkien was where my love of Fantasy truly began.

Frank Herbert's Dune was where my love of Sci-Fi joined in.

I think Piers Anthony's Incarnations of Immortality were my first Urban Fantasy. I devoured the Xanth books as fast as I could find them, too. I discovered Piers Anthony by coming across The Blue Adept while I was shelving books at the library - being a shelver was a totally awesome way of discovering new authors to read.

I have an enormous collection of Sci-Fi and Fantasy paperbacks in boxes in the basement. And while I know most of them I won't re-read and I should go through them and donate them, I'm loathe to do so. Books were my gateways to new worlds, they were my friends, they filled a lot of my spare time growing up. Besies, I have this fantasy that I'm going to move the country and I want a room that's a library, shelves lining every wall. Then the only question will be - do I file them by genre then title, or simply alphabetically by title? Decisions, decision...

Movie Tuesday

I didn't watch any movies since last week, so I guess I'll talk about sequels and franchise movies that I'm looking forward to seeing over the next few months.

First up is the Avengers movie. I actually already have my ticket for this one. I'm seeing it at the IMAX, which means I get to reserve an actual seat, not just any seat. So I'm going on Saturday to a matinee. I'm very excited about it but trying hard not to have any expectations, because the higher my expectations, the harder it is for the movie to live up to it. So this is me, being excited but not having expectations. Or at least trying!

There's a new Terminator movie coming out! With Arnie, no less. Let me tell you that I love this franchise so much. I've seen all the movies, I've watched the tv series. I just love it. I've mentioned before that time travel themes are one of my bullet proof kinks, meaning I'll watch it even if it's bad. The Terminator movies try very hard to deal with the paradoxes, and they play with it. I'm just so pleased there is going to be another one.

Max Max: Fury Road. I wasn't sure about this one. I mean, the Mad Max movies are violent and intense. Like really, really. I watched the original one with the VCR on a little TV. The second one I saw in a repetoire theatre (do these even exist anymore? Movie theatres that play older stuff?) Anyway. I sat there, literally shaking it was that intense. I had never done that before at a movie and haven't since. And then Thunderdome while a far more "cleaned up for general viewing" movie, was still good. I love them, especially the original, so much. My other bullet proof kink is post-apocalypse stuff, so yeah, that's my history with the franchise. So I really wasn't sure when I saw they were redoing it. Then I found out that George Miller had co-written and directed this new one and now I'm on board and I want to see it.

Jurassic World. Oh man, loved the original, was less impressed with the rest of them, but I trust that this one has the potential to be very good. Especially with the way the cgi and stuff has improved. Plus I really liked Chris Pratt in Guardians of the Galaxy, so I'm looking forward to it a lot.

There are other movies coming out this summer that I want to see, but these were the sequels/franchise ones.

Six on a Sunday

  1. I really should be going through edits right now. I may say this often enough it should be my mantra ;)
  2. I really can't complain this spring -- we've had a couple of weeks of wonderful weather where it barely gets above 10C - it usually bypasses my sweetzone completely in favor of jumping from hovering around freezing to too damn hot in a week.
  3. What I really want to do is find a comfy spot and nap - I woke up feeling like this and so far, things haven't changed.
  4. I can't believe it's May 1 on Friday already. That's a third of the year gone already. Where did it go? Last I looked we were making new year's resolutions!
  5. I'm trying to eat better, but veggies always make me burpy. Why does the bad for you stuff have to taste so damn good? I'm talking to you fried foods!
  6. Corpus Christi is now available at Amber Allure!

Corpus Christi

Jeff is right out of the service, not used to being able to play without caring who sees. Hunter has been around the block a little more, and is used to doing his thing.

When the men meet at the bar where Hunter plays guitar in a band, they spark immediately, the attraction fierce and sudden. Can it last when the two of them are at very different places in their lives? Hunter has his music, his business, whereas Jeff is just starting out, looking into his options after mustering out of the military.

Can Jeff and Hunter compromise so they can stay together? Or do they even want to?

Pick it up at Amber Allure for 35% off the regular price. (It should be at the distributors next weekend.)

There was a smutty excerpt of this yesterday for Smutterday.

smutty excerpt:

He led Jeff upstairs, turning at the top to look back, smiling. “I’m going to kiss you.”

“I sure hope so.”

Hunter reached out, tilted Jeff’s face and took a long, slow kiss. Oh, yeah. Strong. Male. Hot. Good. Jeff whimpered and suddenly Hunter found himself pressed against the wall, Jeff eager and hot, strong, untutored. He met that strength head-on, opening, offering Jeff a taste. His mouth was filled with a moan first, then Jeff’s tongue swept through, plundering.

Oh, fuck. The kid was hungry. Hunter appreciated that in a man. He wrapped one hand around Jeff’s neck, pulled them closer together. One of Jeff’s hands pressed against the wall beside his head, the other one grabbed his hip, tugging him into pumping hips.

Oh, sweet fuck, yes. Sure as shit, though, if Jeff creamed those jeans, things would get weird. Best to move this along. Hunter lifted his head, panting. “Inside. Less clothes, yeah?”

Those pretty blue eyes looked a little wild for a moment, then Jeff backed off, swallowing and nodding.

“Yeah.” Hunter brushed the corner of Jeff’s mouth with his lips. “So fucking hot.”

Then he opened the door and let Jeff into the big, open loft.

Jeff looked around in about three seconds flat. “Nice place.” Then their lips were together again, while Jeff’s hands tugged his shirt out of his pants. He moaned and nodded, fingers sliding over strong, hot muscles as he got Jeff’s shirt right off. Jeff pushed him into the wall by the door, rubbing against him again, fingers sliding up along his sides and belly.

“Mmm…’s good.” He worked the kid’s belt buckle open, then started in on the jeans.

“Yeah.” Jeff licked at his lips before pushing an insistent tongue back into his mouth.

Hunter got the fly down on those jeans at about the same time he started sucking on Jeff’s tongue, just humming with pleasure. Jeff made a strangled sound, body slamming against him as a fine, fat prick surged into his hand. Oh. Oh, yeah. Come on, baby. It’s good. He kept sucking, pumping, rubbing away.

Jeff made another one of those sounds, hips working hard, pushing, even after a ripple went through Jeff, heat splashing over Hunter’s hand.

“Mmm… Yeah.” He inhaled the scent of male—strong, arousing, heady.

Jeff nodded, fingers fumbling against his jeans. “’S been a while,” the kid muttered, gaze on his hands.

The Butcher and the Beast available for early download!

The Butcher and the Beast is now available for download at the publisher's site!

The Butcher and The Beast

Can a pirate and a doctor find love on the seas?

Stephen is a doctor, a practical man who wishes his sister wouldn’t worry so about the pirates that plague their island home. So it’s ironic that Stephen himself is set upon by just those pirates, who carry him off to heal their wounded captain.

John is a pirate captain, master of his fate and used to getting what he wants. And he decides he wants Stephen, even when the good doctor wants nothing more than to run away from him.

Can the beast convince the doctor who the sailors call the butcher to stay with him?

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of BDSM, non-consensual sex and dubious consent during captivity.

It's now available at Totally Bound.

smutty (of the non-con variety) excerpt:

The hand around his waist and the leg over his pulled him back against the pirate captain’s heat. “Stay.”

“I…” Stephen closed his eyes again, his body relaxing.

“There you are.” The captain’s warm fingers slid across his belly again.

He sighed, confused, dazed. “Here I am?”

“Listening to your body, sliding into my arms where you belong.”

“I belong…” He couldn’t focus, floating, swaying. That hum came again, low and vibrating along his back, matching the fingers that were stroking along his belly, sliding across the tip of his shaft…
Stephen’s eyes fluttered open. “I cannot…”

“Yes, you can.” The captain’s hand slid into his breeches and wrapped around his cock, hot and sure, solid.

“N-no… Oh…” He whimpered, legs shifting.

“Oh, yes, Stephen. Yes.” That hand began to move, sliding up and down along his flesh in the most maddening manner.

“I… Please. Please, no.” Stephen shook his head, hips shifting.

“Please no or just please?” The pirate kept moving his hand, using the movements of Stephen’s own body against him.

“I need…” Water. Ale. Air. Something.

“Yes, I can feel.” The captain squeezed tight around his shaft.

“Oh. Don’t. I cannot…” His hips were moving as if possessed by an ague.

“But you can and you are.”

“I…” Stephen shook his head, gasping, heat filling his belly.

“So hot. Have you touched yourself like this? Felt the heat and the silk of your own cock?”

“No.” He sobbed softly, shivering. “It is wrong…”

“How could something that feels so good be wrong?” The captain continued to stroke him, to insist on his pleasure.

“Please…” Stephen couldn’t breathe, couldn’t think. “I cannot…”

“I don’t believe you.” His erection was stroked harder, faster, more.

Stephen pushed into the touch, thrusting, need sparking along his skin. “Oh…”

“Mmm, yes, so good. I can feel your heart beating in your cock. You need as much as any pirate.”

“No. No…” Stephen stretched, his eyes rolling, his own body betraying him.

“Your body knows. Your body doesn’t lie.”

“No!” He jerked away, panting, his entire self thrumming with need.

He was pulled back against the warmth of his captor’s skin. “Yes.”

Wednesday Book Day

I thought I'd pick a day to talk about reading and books that I've read/loved/hated/been changed by. Just talk reading and books in general. It'll probably wind up being fairly random. I know this post is going to be, but I'll try and focus on specific books in the future.

My folks like to tell the story of how my love of reading started. Once upon a time, I was an early riser (yeah, times change and so do people because I am so very much not a morning person anymore). So there I was, up before six am on a regular basis and nothing seemed to keep me entertained until my mother started leaving a book in my crib after I'd fallen asleep. Suddenly, instead of being woken up by crying, she'd be woken up by the sound of me 'reading' to myself. I'd look at the pictures and blather away in baby talk as I read the book.

As a toddler, people would see me reading books and be amazed because I was quite young. Apparently, I had the books memorized and knew what words were written on which pages because I'd make my folks read the books over and over to me.

While I can't remember that, I can remember always having a book by my bed and reading was the last thing I did before going to bed and the first thing I did when I got up.

I can remember trips to the library from pretty early on - I remember when the Curious George books were my favorite. I loved that monkey and the man in the yellow hat.

I remember when I discovered that the Wizard of Oz was in books! And there was more than just one of them.

Encyclopedia Brown! Do you remember those? I loved them and devoured every book in the series that the library had.

Many an evening as I was growing up was spent as a family, not in front of the TV, but each in their own spot, reading a book. When I hit high school and had to read, it was so much fun. I never had a problem getting the books read for my classes because it was what I loved to do.

Books were always there. Whether it was nice outside or too hot or too cold or too rainy. They were there if I was happy or sad or lonely or in a great mood. I read everything I could get my hands on.

My first job was as a shelver at the library when I was sixteen. (I'd tried to apply the year before but they weren't allowed to hire you until you were sixteen, I showed up the week after my birthday to apply.) Hell, I was there every couple of days anyway, might as well do a few hours work (with books!) and get paid for it, right?

Books take you away to another world, they can inspire and they can make you feel things. I have always loved books and reading. Always. Now that so much of my time is taken up with writing and all the accouterments that go along with being published, I don't get to read nearly as much as I used to. I am, however, slowly getting back into the habit and I'm glad. Because I still love reading. Whether it's with a paper book in hand, or an electronic one, books are awesome and reading is one of my favorite things in the world.

Movie Tuesday

I've seen a few movies over the last couple of weeks, one at the theatre and the rest at home.

I'll start with the at the cinema one first -- went to Kingsmen. I didn't like it as much as I'd hoped I would - I thought it would be a Bond film only with younger spies and while in many ways it was that, it took itself a little bit too seriously for me to totally go with it. And maybe it's because I'm old, but the violence was almost all set to music and played out like a music video and that put me off. I'm not saying I hated it or anything, it just wasn't quite what I was expecting. I do way better with movies where I have lower expectations.

Speaking of high expectations. The first movie I saw at home was Interstellar and I was really looking forward to this one. Eh. It was pretty to look at, but it just didn't thrill me. I think it would be fascinating to do a comparison of it with 2001: A Space Odyssey, because even though I haven't seen 2001 in about 25 years, I could pickup points of confluence. However, that would mean I would have to watch 2001 again, and I have no intentions of doing so. I didn't like 2001 particularly much, though it obviously stuck with me enough that I can say that I found Interstellar had a lot of echos back to it.

Next up were a pair of movies I watched on the new Netflix type service that my cable provider has.

16 Blocks was the first - this was a Bruce Willis movie I hadn't seen before. I enjoyed this one (please notice I had no expectations going in - it really does make a difference and why I try not to put too high expectations on any movie I'm going to see). I especially loved Mos Def's character Eddie. It's a good action film with a pair of unlikely heroes redeeming themselves. Also, it's from 2006 and it was fun to spot people I know from other shows/movies -- look! it's Captain Renard from Grimm!

Black Death was the next one, in which Sean Bean proves that he will take any role that he can die in. (I would have said spoiler alert, but I know I'm always waiting for Sean Bean to die whenever I see him in a movie - or television show.) Anyway, this one was... it was interesting and not bad, though I found the ending depressing and wish they'd gone another way with it.

Lastly, I re-watched Sneakers. It had been long enough since I'd seen this one that it was almost like watching a totally new movie. Man, River Phoenix was young in this one (okay, he's young in all of them because he was still so young when he died, but he seemed very baby-faced in this one). I enjoyed it, even though it wasn't the movie I actually thought it was. I need to figure out what that was, too, because it's niggling at the back of my brain in an annoying fashion. Let me take a peek at IMDB...aha! I was conflating Sneakers with Hackers in my mind. Now I need to go watch Hackers so I have them fully separated in my head.

So that's the last couple weeks worth of movies. I'm not sure I'll get to too many this weekend as it's supposed to be some of my favorite type of spring days (warm without going hot and not much rain). The summer movie glut is about to start, though and there are several I want to see, so I'm looking forward to that.

My God It's Monday

It's been a while since I had a My God It's Monday post. Maybe because the last while Mondays have been uber Mondays. I don't know. Anyway, here I am today.

Had a lovely weekend. The weather was my fave. And now I have raspberries and blueberries in the backyard. Well. I have sticks. Sticks that will supposedly turn into bushes with leaves and berries on them. We shall see.

Whenever I have a week or two of mad rushing to get things completed and hit deadlines and send back edits and whatnot, I think oh good, I can breathe for a little bit and kind of goof off, maybe. Uh, yeah, no. Because if I goof off, even for just a day or two, suddenly I'm back to mad rushing. A steady pace seems to work best. Of course, sometimes I don't mind the mad rush if I get to relax and have a few fun days in between.

I have two books coming out this week. On Friday The Butcher and The Beast will be available for early download at Totally Bond. And on Sunday, Amber Allure will be reprinting Corpus Christi.

Corpus Christi

Jeff is right out of the service, not used to being able to play without caring who sees. Hunter has been around the block a little more, and is used to doing his thing.

Dangerous Chairs....

The weather is beautiful right now - currently 5C and not expected to get above 12C. There's a light breeze and plenty of sunshine. This is my favorite part of spring. Although I really love it when we get a few days in a row of rain and then some sunny days and suddenly everything is blooming and budding and nature shakes off the winter drabs and puts on her spring/summer finery. That's good too. Heck, I like pretty much all the weather except for the too hot and humid summer. So I'm happy with the weather more often than not.

Anyway, the point is raspberries and blackberries have been purchased to put in along the fence - I'm really hoping to get fruit this year from them. I can't wait for strawberry season to begin. Sure, we can get strawberries year round, but the ones imported from the US look nice, but have no flavor. When the local ones come in, it's always such an amazing taste because it's so bright and full. There I am, tangenting again.

Where was I... oh yes, berry sticks (which is currently what they look like) bought, new low fencing bought, and an anti-gravity deck chair bought. The anti-gravity chairs are the ones that you press back on and they roll back so suddenly you're in the really comfy position with your head back and your legs up and I may have just spent forty five minutes in my spring jacket, eyes closed, just enjoying lying in the chair. I have a hunch I shall be doing this a lot. At least until it becomes too hot, because oh my, comfortable.

This is why it's a dangerous chair. I may find myself entrenched in this thing for far longer periods of time than planned. It's nice just to sit, and awesome to nap in, so even if I bring out work I'm intending to do... well, let's just say not a lot of work might be what happens.

I've never had a deck chair/lawn chair/whatever you call it, that was so comfortable and inviting. If I start missing deadlines, I think we know who, or should I say what, to blame.

Smutterday - Drawing Straws: Damon

I had to share the Drawing Straws boys for smutterday!

Drawing Straws: Damon

Damon, Erik, Joe and Tork return once again to their weekend getaway cabin and this time they have something to celebrate.

Damon is finished with his cancer treatments and the weekend starts with a welcome announcement and only gets better from there. Tork has another surprise for his men, though, one that will cement their lives together forever.

Join the foursome in this final installment of Drawing Straws.

smutty excerpt:

“And you’re about to get your sweet ass fucked six ways to Sunday.” God, Tork was hard and couldn’t wait to get in there.

“Maybe. Maybe you strip me down and decide I’m too skinny.”

Tork thought Damon was one sexy fucker and always would, no matter how much Damon needed a few steaks. Especially as he had color back in his cheeks. “I know how skinny you are. Besides, that’s what the lasagna and grapes are for.”

“Grapes and strawberries, breakfast of champions.” Damon licked his lips and rubbed his belly. They’d brought strawberries of course, but Tork wanted to save them for later.

“No wonder you’re so skinny.” Tork knew that was all Damon had been able to stomach for ages. And even if he only had one bite of the lasagna, it would still be great to see him eating good, solid food.

“At least I won’t get rickets.”

“Gross.” Tork wrinkled his nose.

“That is so not sexy,” Erik added, joining them in the bedroom.

“What? Saying rickets or getting it?” Damon asked. Their lover was flying and it was adorable.

“Both. Can we change the subject?” Erik asked.

Tork snorted and put Damon down on the bed. “I’ve got the subject change you need right here.”
Damon was wearing warm, soft clothes, the fabrics gentle on his skin. They were almost molded to Damon, making the most enticing picture.

Still, skin would be even better and Tork began to strip Damon, Erik helping. Even with the two of them, it was taking time, both him and Erik bending to lick and kiss and nibble the smooth skin as it was revealed. They had all weekend and could take as long as they wanted on any part of Damon. Tork revelled in the lack of chemicals and sickly taste on Damon’s skin.

When Joe came up, he pressed one of the bottles of pop on the bottom of Damon’s foot, making Damon squeal.

“Butthead,” Erik accused.

Tork figured it had probably felt good. Besides, how fucking cool was it that they didn’t have to treat Damon with kid gloves anymore?

“That’s our Joe.” Damon just beamed at their grumpy cop.

Tork chuckled then started stripping himself, pulling off his clothes so there could be that magical skin on skin thing happening. By the time he was done, Erik had Damon spread and was touching him, fingers pushing deep.

“You gettin’ him good and ready for me ‘rik?” Tork wanted first go. He needed to sink into Damon’s beautiful body, feel Damon’s heat wrapped tight around his cock.

“I’m getting him all relaxed and melty.” Erik finger-fucked Damon a little faster.

“Not too melty.” Tork winked and grabbed the lube, getting his cock slick. He was so ready.

“I like him melty.” Erik touched Damon’s little nips and their lover took a deep breath.

“Oh.” Damon’s word was more breath than sound, not quite a sigh.

“See? That’s not melty, that’s hard. So’s the piece between his legs.” Tork climbed onto the bed, fucking ecstatic. His Cricket—their Cricket—was hard.

He wrapped his fingers around Damon’s cock, weighing the stiff length. They hadn’t seen this in far too long.

“Fuck, that’s the most beautiful cock I’ve seen in for-fucking ever.” Erik almost sounded like he wanted to get it bronzed. Which would be a terrible waste.

“Out of my way,” growled Joe, pushing onto the bed.

Tork wasn’t even sure what Joe meant until Joe bent and took the head Damon’s cock into his mouth.

Damon gasped, flailing wildly. “Please!”

Oh. Oh, fuck. Look at that. Tork let go of Damon’s cock, letting Joe have his way.

Joe was like a hoover, taking Damon’s cock in all the way, head beginning to bob.

Tork’s prick throbbed, and he needed in, needed to join them.

Five Things Make a Friday Blog

  1. Another beautiful day and it looks like it's going to be a beautiful weekend, more or less. While we could use the rain for the crops and the trees and the flowers - there is this point, after some sun and a couple days of rain followed by sun when everything goes from brown to baby green as the trees all bud up, it's stunning how fast it happens - I am nonetheless enjoying the days without rain. The back door is open most of the time, letting a fresh breeze in. I'm taking every day of that I can -- too soon it'll be closed back up with the a/c on.
  2. I may have already bought tickets for the new Avengers movie at the IMAX theatre on May 2nd...
  3. Some days I really wish I was still drinking Coke. Despite the fact that I know from experience that it tastes just awful the first few times after not having drunk it for a while, I miss the whole fizzy, almost burning down my throat, sitting and relaxing with a can of it feeling. Coke was my coffee and I know it's terrible for me, which is why I'm no longer drinking it. But there are days when I really very badly want to.
  4. Hit all my submission deadlines for April. Now I start working on the June first ones. So far, I'm doing well. Let's see what I'm saying come May 28th or so ;)
  5. Drawing Straws: Damon is now out! This is the last one in the series and while it feels great to be done, it also feels bittersweet, that it's finished and I won't be revisiting the boys again. On the other hand, there are a ton of other guys clamoring at me for their turn, so it's not like I don't have anything to do or wonderful new boys to discover.

Happy weekend to all!

Six Things on a Sunday

  1. It's a stunningly beautiful day today. I wish it wasn't getting quite as warm as it is because some of my favorite days are the ones where it's between 5C and 15C and too many days close to 20C make those suddenly seem cold. We rarely get a slow buildup to summer, so any days that fit that category are cherished by me.
  2. I have turned in one story due on the 15th. I'm always pleased with myself when I manage to be early! I've also done edits and returned one story, and started edits on another. I think I deserve the rest of the day 'off'. In fact, I'm pretty sure there is a nap in my near future.
  3. Big Brother Canada is a few weeks in. And I'm as crack-addicted to it as ever.
  4. I'm really looking forward to the Tulip Festival this year. Should be a good one. I just love walking around Dow's Lake and admiring the pretties. There are so many different varieties of tulips. It's quite astounding. And of course there will also be beavertails. Because it wouldn't be the tulip festival without a Killaloe Sunrise Beavertail. And possibly a fresh-squeezed lemonade, though not at the same time because they do not go well together.
  5. Salted caramel is turning into one of my favorite thing. It seems I love the salty/sweet combination.
  6. A book of mine that was supposed to come out at the beginning of May might just have been moved up to Wednesday this week. I'll say more tomorrow ;)

Smutterday - Soaring with Hawk

I figured I'd share a smutty excerpt of this one, too. (A non-smutty excerpt can be fond here.)

Soaring With Hawk

When factory worker Jester lets supervisor Hawk convince him to visit the Velvet Glove, he has no idea what to expect. Hawk treats Jester with kindness, and soon enough, Hawk wants Jester to move in and be with him for the rest of their lives. Jester's family are less than thrilled, but when he thinks he has nowhere else to go, he discovers that he'll always have a place with Hawk.

Originally published by Torquere Press.

It's available at Amazon and at All Romance Ebooks.

smutty excerpt:

"Am I supposed to be excited?" he asked, worried Hawk would be upset by him being so hard.

"I would be most worried if we were so close and sharing kisses and you were not, pretty one." A warm chuckle caressed Jester, as did a hot hand.

He blushed, burying his head against Hawk's chest. A soft hum soothed him, Hawk stroking his hair. "I have never done this before," he admitted, looking up into Hawk's eyes. Surely that wouldn't make Hawk ask him to leave.

Hawk's dark eyes shone, so warm, so focused. "You have no idea how that pleases me, pretty one."

"Oh. Good." Relief went through him, leaving only the warmth and the heat behind. "Can I have another kiss?" He really liked the kissing.

"Of course." Hawk's lips dropped upon his own, tongue sliding into his mouth.

He opened to Hawk, the heat flaring inside him. Hawk settled him, his legs wrapping around Hawk's waist, drawing his hardness against Hawk's flat belly. He moaned softly, rubbing without thinking, a shudder going through him.

"Would you like skin on skin, Pet? Would you let me touch you?"

"Oh..." Another shiver went through him. "Oh. Yes." He nodded. Yes.

Hawk slowly unbuttoned the soft, pale shirt that covered all that skin from Jester's sight. "Unbutton yours for me, Jester."

"Okay." Jester watched Hawk for a moment longer and then looked down at his own shirt, starting to undo his buttons. He was shy. Hawk's skin was dark and pretty, muscled. He was pale and slight, but he wanted to touch with Hawk skin on skin, knew Hawk wanted it as well.

"Mmm..." Hawk made a soft, low sound, licking his lips. "So pretty, Pet. You glow." One dark hand stroked his belly before sliding around to touch his back.

He shivered again, not from cold, but from the heat. "Hawk..."

"Yes, Jester?" He was slowly drawn closer.

Jester cried out as their bodies came together, Hawk hot and smooth. He felt feverish, dizzy, like he was soaring.

"Sweet one, that's it. I wish to have all of you." Oh, they were together, shoulders to waist. So hot. So sweet.

Hawk's hands were touching him, making him feel so much more than he'd ever felt before. So much. Almost too much.

"If you open your pants, you can feel more, Pet."

"I'll... I'll... come," Jester whispered, hands already moving to open them.

"I do hope so, pretty one." He was given a pleased, wanton look. "Again and again."

Jester's eyes widened. "Oh..." Hands shaking, he got the zipper opened.

Hawk's fingers brushed his skin, then drew his cock against the heat of Hawk's lower belly.

"Oh!" Everything became sharp, bright, the pleasure going through him and spraying from him, all over Hawk's belly. Panting, he lay against Hawk, shivers and shudders going through him.

The Butcher and The Beast available for pre-order

Totally Bound has re-published my pirate story The Butcher and The Beast. This one is a little different from me in that it's got non-con in it, but I'm very glad it's once again available! You can pre-order it now for an early download of April 24. It will be available on all the distributors May 22.

Pre-order it here.

excerpt:

“Elizabeth, please. I’m not going to Hades to fight the devil himself. I’m taking my constitutional. Simply wait tea until I return.” Stephen shook his head at his sister and her swollen eyes.

Ever since the damnable rumors about pirates attacking their fair isle, the woman had been an unbearable worrywart. The entire scenario was pointless, ridiculous—bloody childish. Admiral Lippincott was the finest in Her Majesty’s fleet, keeping them all safe and supplied. There wasn’t a pirate alive foolhardy enough to attack Santa Maria.

“Brother…Stephen. Please. Mary Ann said—”

“Mary Ann is a twit and a gossip—a child trapped in a woman’s body.” He stood, glaring down at her. “Now, honestly. Calm yourself and I shall be home before you know it.” He loved her dearly, he did, but damned if she didn’t drive him batty.

He stormed out of the drawing room, nodding to George as he passed. “Tea will be late.”

“Yes, Doctor Grey. Have a good walk.”

Yes, good man. This was why Stephen kept the old man on the payroll. He knew when to agree.
Stephen wandered down the cobblestones, nodding to the random people he met, heading to the long stretch of planks by the docks. His boots thumped against the wood. The sound of the water against the dock was quite relaxing.

There was a soft splash and two men appeared before him, in the shadows. “You’re the doctor, eh?”

“I am.” Hell’s bells. He started backing away, gripping his cane firmly. He was ready for any trouble a pair of layabouts might try to visit on him.

“Good.” They each grabbed one of his arms and went over the side of the pier, landing in the water with a splash.

“Unhand me! Help! Constable!” Stephen struggled, trousers and shirtwaist soaked through and heavy immediately, the water cool and slick. Oh, Elizabeth was never going to let him forget this nonsense.

One of his captors turned to glide through the water on his back, tugging Stephen along, hand over his mouth. In moments he was being pulled up into a rowboat.

He still had his cane and as soon as he could find his balance and pull away from the fiends, he swung, hoping to make contact. “What wickedness is this?”

There was a yelp from in front of him and a laugh from behind him, and the cane was yanked from his hand and unceremoniously tossed overboard.

“We’re taking you to a patient, Doctor. This how you treat all of ‘em?”

“I beg your pardon? The governor sent you?” Did they think him a fool?

They laughed. Not the polite titters he was used to, either, but full out belly laughs.

He looked around, judging the distance to the shore, the weight of his clothing. He was not the strongest swimmer on the isle, but he could survive. Stephen tensed, diving for the edge of the rowboat. His hopes were dashed as one meaty hand wrapped around his arm, holding fast.

“Now, now, sawbones, don’t be thinking of going anywhere before you see the Cap’n.”

“Captain? Captain of what? Captain who? I know everyone on the isle.” His mind could not imagine it, could not come to terms with this insanity.

“Not taking you to anywhere on the isle, now are we?”

“Shut it, Dawson.”

“You shut it!”

“Both of you shut it,” came a third voice as they drew up next to a large ship.

“I am here under duress! I insist upon being taken back to shore!” Stephen despised ships, the rocking and rolling.

His words brought another loud round of laughing and he was unceremoniously hauled on board.

Catching Up

I've been a bit scarce over the last two weeks. I had a couple of deadlines to hit (which I did) and a couple of edits to return by the weekend (again which I did - yay for getting stuff done), so I was in head down and working hard mode. Then my best friend went into the ER and wound up being checked into the hospital. While now on the mend, there were a few awful days of waiting to find out what was wrong and what they were going to do about it. I don't do my best work when worried and stressed and so most of this week (since Saturday) was a wash. I'm very pleased to be getting back into the swing of things now because she's on the mend.

And of course now I have three more deadlines mid-month, as well as another edit that needs to be done and sent back to the editor asap. They say there is no rest for the wicked and it looks like that's true ;)

My second-favorite season - spring - is working it's way slowly. Which I appreciate. I hate it when we go from really cold to bam, early summer weather with barely any time in between the two. I like having weeks of barely above freezing and the odd snowfall showing up (we had snow overnight, just enough to dust the landscape, giving it that powdered sugar look.) Of course, tomorrow is supposed to be 16C with Saturday and Sunday being even warmer, so I'll soon be wailing about it getting too warm too quickly. And yes, I'm talking about the weather again. It's something we do a lot here because we do run the gamut from as low as -40C in the winter to as high as 40C in the summer, with lots of in between stuff and snow and rain and hail and thunderstorms and high winds. So we do, we talk about it.

I just signed a contract with Dreamspinner to publish some of my out of print books. I'm so grateful to my publishers who are happy to reprint books for me. Speaking of which, I will very shortly have Playing with Fire out again - with Resplendence and I saw a draft of the cover which was very yummy! And in the same vein, The Butcher and the Beast will be out for pre-order tomorrow! The cover for that is now my new background :)

I will try to get back into the swing of things. I haven't done a My God It's Monday blog in ages and I've seen a couple movies to talk about on Movie Tuesday. I'm also wanting to make Wednesday "Book Day" where I talk randomly about my favorite genres, my favorite books, what I love about reading and words and the art of putting them together.

Happy Thursday everyone!

Throwback Thursday - Soaring With Hawk

My latest self-published title is Soaring with Hawk, the story of Jester and Hawk. Hawk and Desmond from Connor's Journey were actually the first two residents of the Velvet Glove to appear in my head and start talking to me.

Excerpt:

The whistle rang and the conveyor belt slowed, stopped, signalling shift change. Jester put his tools in his box, nodded shyly at his replacement and headed for the locker room. He'd only been working the conveyor belt for a week. A promotion. It even meant a little more money. It was hard, though, coming into a new place. He took off his overalls and hung them in his locker. He didn't talk to anyone, just gathered up his lunch box and his book and headed to the line for his pay.

He worked it out slowly in his head, adding the extra amount per day and trying to work out how much would come off for union costs and mandatory future health payments. There should be twelve more notes. That would pay for new boots for Rinia and some meat for the stew. And then there would be twelve more again next week.

"Your code?" The voice that spoke to him was low, rich; the Super's black eyes shone down his long beaked nose at Jester. "Oh, our new boy. #AT2380, yes?"

He cleared his throat. "Yes, sir."

The Super handed Jester’s chip to him. "Your reports have been excellent. Good job."

Jester smiled up at the tall man, pocketing the chip. "Thank you. Thank you very much."

"You're welcome. Enjoy your end of week. A lot of the boys meet at Lester's for caf or beer, if you're at loose ends." Oh, that voice was lovely. Sure. Strong.

"I should get straight home, but thank you. It was very kind of you to offer." Jester smiled again at the Super, searching his mind for an excuse to linger.

"Oh, you have a wife at home?" The question was teasing, gentle, the Super handing out the last few chips to those in line behind him.

He blushed. "Oh no, I'm not married. I still... " His blush got deeper. "I live with my family."

"Oh? I lived with mine for many years until my sister married. Now, I have a suite of rooms of my own."

"A whole suite? All to yourself?" Jester snapped his mouth shut, realising he'd been rude, but he didn't even have a bed to himself, let alone a room and it seemed... like a dream.

"Yes. Three whole rooms above the club I belong to." The Super's black eyes glittered at him, the man not looking upset at all.

"A club?" He didn't know why he was pursuing it as he needed to get home and he was sure the Super wanted to go as well, now that he'd handed out all the chips.

The Super nodded. "A men's club -- parties, a bar, places to dance and relax. It's a nice place."

"Lester's?" That was the name of the place the Super had said people met at for caf or beer. Maybe... maybe he would go next week. If nothing came up, he had twelve extra notes and he could have a meal and maybe a caf, or he could try a beer.

"No. My club is called the Velvet Glove. It's up in the highway district." The Super gave him a warm smile. "You ought to come to supper sometime. I can have a guest."

Jester blinked. "Me? You'd like me to come to supper with you?" Why? The word was almost spoken, but he closed his mouth in time.

"Of course. Why not?" He got a grin and a quick wink. "You do eat, don't you?"

"Oh. Yes, I do." He beamed at the Super. He'd never been invited for supper before, especially not at a club. "I'd be honored."

"Tomorrow night? Say six bells? We can share a drink in my rooms first." A thin virtcard was handed to him with a picture of the Super, a map, and a contact cred. Hawk Blackwing. Oh, wow.

"Thank you. Thank you very much. Oh, I'm Jester. Jesterasialk Tcherristrav." Jester held out his hand, pulled it back to rub it along his pant leg and then held it out again. Oh, he wasn't used to this fancy stuff.

"Hello, Jester. I'm very glad to meet you." His hand was taken and held, the grip warm and easy. "I'm Hawk."

Oh. Oh, Hawk's hand made him feel a little funny. Like when he didn't eat for a few days, only without the headache and belly ache. "Hi, Hawk."

His hand was turned over, the pulse point in his wrist gently stroked. "Hi."

A shiver went through Jester, his eyes wide, watching as Hawk touched him. No one had ever touched him like that, so softly, as if he were precious, as if it were a pleasure to touch him.

He looked back up into Hawk's dark eyes. "Hi," he repeated, almost whispering, breathless.

"My mother taught me that all the beauty and passion in a person was hidden right here in the pulse point." The spot was stroked again. "Do you think she was right?"

"I don't know." He shivered. "Maybe, yes."

"I think she was."

Jester suddenly realized they were alone, the others gone to spend their pay. He should be scared, but Hawk's touch was gentle, easy, not threatening at all. What worried him more was the way he wanted to melt against the long body. You didn't drape yourself against strangers, but he wanted to.

Beer & Clay: Milling out for early download!

The second Beer & Clay book is finally here!

Beer & Clay: Milling

Toby and Damon’s whirlwind romance continues, but can they find a balance between love and work? Do they even want to?

Toby can scarcely believe that his life has changed so much in less than two weeks, but it has. His predictable little life has gone from routine to sexually adventurous in a matter of days. And to be honest, he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Damon’s just as into Toby, more interested in exploring with his new lover than spending all his time at the bar. Luckily things are running fairly smoothly there with his hand only occasionally needed on the rudder.

Their idyllic love affair has a few bumps to withstand, though, in the form of an intruder with a gun. Can Toby and Damon survive what happens next?

Out now for early download at Totally Bound!

excerpt of the smutty variety:

“Coming!” The door opened, and Toby stood there in the tiniest pair of soft shorts, a huge needy erection, and clay streaked everywhere. Damon could see the ring at the tip of Toby’s cock, pushing at the soft shorts. That had to be both driving Toby crazy and turning him on at the same time.

Damon licked his lips. How could Toby have ever thought himself undesirable? How could he have not been snapped up before Damon had done it? Thank God he hadn’t—Damon knew how lucky he was.

“You going to let me in, baby?” Damon’s voice was thick, colored by sudden, sharp desire.

“I am. I’m working. No bad touches.” Toby’s wild mass of red curls was tied in a topknot, wrapped in a bandana.

“No bad touches?” Damon closed the door behind him, reaching for all that skin.

“Uh-huh.” Toby’s pretty pink nips were hard as stones, calling for him.

Of course he couldn’t really play, not the way he wanted to. The piercings needed to heal. They also needed to stay clean. He was going to have to doctor them when Toby was done, clean up the clay.

“What’s a bad touch?” Damon asked as he stroked around Toby’s nipples, avoiding the freshly pierced flesh.

“Oh, God…” Toby’s body moved with the music, hips punching with the bass. Fuck, that was hot.

“Not this.” Damon stepped closer, his fingers drifting down to trace Toby’s cock through his shorts. “Are you wearing a plug?”

“I’m working…”

He reached around with his other hand, rubbing Toby’s ass, then pressing along Toby’s crack. There was a flat base at Toby’s hole, promising wickedness.

“You’re needing,” Damon pointed out. “I’ll just help you out and then you can get back to it.” He jostled the end of the plug.

Toby’s lips parted, the pale skin flushing a pale rose. Pretty baby.

Keeping one hand on Toby’s ass so he could keep playing with the plug, Damon brought the other one to Toby’s balls, rolling them through the soft material of those shorty shorts. A dark spot appeared on the cloth, beginning to grow.

Humming, Damon went to his knees to take Toby’s covered cock into his mouth. He was gentle, mindful of the penis ring, but he did suck, pulling the flavor in and further wetting Toby’s shorts.

“Oh, God.” Toby’s little cry heralded a thrust, a jerk, and a bigger wet spot.

Damon kissed the head, then stood and gently worked the shorts over the tip of Toby’s cock, careful not to catch the glinting ring. Then he took Toby’s mouth, his tongue sliding in. His sweet boy pushed close, the sound he got pure, desperate sex.

Right. No touching. It was a good thing he was more apt to listen to Toby’s body than his words.
